Where Y’at This Weekend: Magazine Street, Grand Isle, Louisiana Children’s Museum, Generations Hall
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — While the normal July rain and heat continue, there’s still plenty to do in the Big Easy, including refined restaurant specials, wet froggy fun for the kids and even a sexy legs contest. Here are Where Y’at’s weekend picks:
Through Sunday, don’t miss Magazine Street Restaurant Week, where Magazine Street eateries present delicious dining deals. The Vintage is offering a special three-course meal with a glass of wine for only $30. It even comes with a hot beignet for dessert!
If you’re looking to hit the beach this weekend, the Island Strong Music Festival starts tonight in Grand Isle. The festival boasts a line-up of musicians including Whiskey Bent & The Highway Boys. Freshly caught Gulf seafood bites like shrimp platters will be on the menu.
Next, calling all kids: beat the heat tomorrow at the Louisiana Children’s Museum with Froggy Friday’s Splash and Play activities. Toddlers are welcome to join the Splish-Splash and froggy fun for water playtime. Tickets can be purchased online.
Finally, on Saturday evening at Generations Hall, the Mr. Legs pageant features male contestants showing off “a little leg” for charity. Judges will select winners for Hairiest Legs and more…while Attendees enjoy complimentary food, an open bar, and entertainment by the Pussyfooters.
The results are in for your voting for Where Y’at’s Best of the Big Easy contest! Grab the current issue of Where Y’at to see who won for categories such as Best Shrimp Po-boy and more. And watch WGNO next Sunday night, July 28, at 10:30 p.m. for the special Where Y’at Best of the Big Easy show!
