Where Y’at This Weekend: Red Dress Run, Dirty Linen Night, Tracy’s, National WWII Museum
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Thousands of red dress-wearing women and men, a Saints watch party, and a patriotic Idol-themed competition are on the bill in the Big Easy; here is Where Y’at’s weekend picks:
Grab a red dress for Saturday’s Red Dress Run, a drunken dash through the Marigny and French Quarter, featuring food, live music, and ice-cold beer. Register online for the 21+ two-mile fun run starting at Crescent Park. All proceeds go to local charities.
Next, stroll the galleries of Royal Street on Saturday evening at Dirty Linen Night. Throughout the 300 to 1100 blocks of Royal, dozens of galleries and shops will present an evening of art, cocktails and culture.
Looking for a spot to catch the first Saints game? Then grab a seat this Saturday evening at the new location of Tracey’s Original Irish Channel Bar as the Saints take on the Cardinals. With a new menu and plenty of TVs, it’s the perfect spot to cheer on the black and gold.
Finally, don’t let your weekend end on Sunday. On Tuesday at the National WWII Museum’s BB’s Stage Door Canteen, six finalists will sing 1940s classics in front of local celebrity judges and compete for a $2,000 grand prize and the title of Stage Door Idol.
If you’re a Saints fan, pick up the new issue of Where Y’at Magazine at over 650 locations around Greater New Orleans, featuring an exclusive interview with The Honey Badger Tyrann Mathieu, a season preview and more. Or log onto WhereYat.com to read the new issue on online.
