Whoopi Goldberg Makes a Bold Confession About Space Aliens on 'The View'
Whoopi Goldberg
Whoopi Goldberg has never been one to shy away from expressing her beliefs—even if they do sometimes sound out of this world.
The actress and TV personality opened up about her belief in extraterrestrial life during the Wednesday, March 27 episode of The View, where she insisted that aliens have already made their way to earth.
The conversation started with Kumail Nanjiani, the star of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, who sat down with the hosts of the daytime talk show to promote the new film. But while the actor, 46, said he does not actually believe in ghosts, he admitted, "I’ll tell you what, I do believe in aliens."
"I think aliens are circling us, waiting for us to get it together so they can come on down," Nanjiani explained. "I think they’re waiting for us to clean up a little bit so that they can come here and tell us we’re really messing things up."
That's when Goldberg, 68, chimed in to say that aliens are "already here," as in on planet Earth, before adding, "They've been here for quite some time."
"You think they’re here? What are they doing?" Nanjiani probed, while the EGOT winner replied simply, "They're watching us."
Goldberg appeared to be very serious about the topic, though the same couldn't be said for her co-hosts. Sunny Hostin tried to lighten up the conversation by joking that the rumored aliens on Earth have been spending all of their time "talking to Whoopi."
Co-host Sara Haines then chimed in, quipping, "She talks to ghosts, not aliens, duh!"—an apparent reference to Goldberg's role in the Oscar-winning film Ghost from 1990.
"The movie was Ghost not Alien," Haines further declared, while joking to Goldberg, "I got you, girl!"
The conversation then continued on as usual, but something tells us Goldberg wasn't kidding around when it comes to her theories on E.T.s!
