Why Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Aren't at the 2021 Golden Globes
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are one of Hollywood's biggest A-list couples, with TV and film careers spanning decades. But the two will not be gracing tonight's bicoastal Golden Globes ceremony with their presence. There's no reason for them to: Neither has been tapped as a presenter, and neither is nominated for any award.
Reynolds was nominated once for a Golden Globe, getting a Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy nod in 2017 for his work in Deadpool. Lively, meanwhile, has never been nominated for a Golden Globe. The couple did attend it together in 2017, stepping out in one of their most iconic red carpet looks as a couple:
Lively and Reynolds have kept a relatively low profile throughout the coronavirus pandemic, but the two have occasionally shared Instagram posts depicting what their life is like at home with their family. The couple has three daughters.
For Valentine's Day, they shared tributes to each other, with Lively posting footage of Reynolds doing her roots:
And Reynolds shared a video of Lively sledding, writing, “My forever valentine for the foreseeable future.”
For Reynolds' birthday in October, Lively shared a tribute to him and documented the day's festivities. She, of course, trolled him, as the couple likes to do on social media. She wrote: “1) Who is the lost soul that selects birthday PIE. 2) What ANIMAL eats their cake (pie) without first blowing out the candles. @vancityreynolds that’s who. Happy Birthday. I honestly can’t believe we’re still married.”
