Why Candace Cameron Bure Is Taking a Social Media Break

Candace Cameron Bure is letting the magic of Christmas inspire her latest social media move.

As everyone begins to “sign off” from work to celebrate the upcoming winter holiday, the Full House star is extending the sentiment to her online presence.

“It's time to take my annual social media break,” she announced in a new video uploaded to Instagram before adding, “and I encourage you to do the same.”

As for what inspired the decision, she continued, “It's a breath of fresh air not being tied to my phone over the Christmas holiday…gives me more time to focus on my family and the reason for the season!”

Of course, this likely means that we won’t get any festive snaps from the “Queen of Christmas,” however, she’s made sure to celebrate all month long by promoting her movies and sharing other personal moments in her life.

The video announcing her social media break was also spirited, as she wished everyone a “holly jolly Christmas” and promised to see everyone in the next year.

Clad in a pink flannel jacket and emerald dangling earrings with her hair tied back, the Great American Family actress also mouthed the words, “Have a holly jolly Christmas, XOXO Gossip Girl,” the audio, from the hit TV series Gossip Girl, in the clip.

Fans were pretty supportive as one commented, “See you in the other side! Praying your holidays and time spent with family and loved ones is abundantly blessed.”

Another chimed in to inform the star that they are following in her footsteps, noting, “I'll be taking a break from social media as well. Thank you for sharing and Merry Christmas to you and your family ?????,” as a third weighed in, stating, “Enjoy the break, you deserve it ??.”

And for those who might be missing Cameron Bure during her hiatus, you can catch her in this year’s holiday film My Christmas Hero, starring as an army reserve doctor trying to track down her family’s military history. Additionally, her daughter, Natasha Bure, 25, whom she shares with husband Valeri Bure, will appear in A Christmas for the Ages.
