Why is Duchess Kate Wearing So Much Blue?
The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out on Commonwealth Day beside her husband Prince William (and royal-couple-to-be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle) wearing a sharp navy blue ensemble. While her unfailingly elegant and reserved sense of style is the stuff of constant internet chatter, lately we've been wondering if she's trying to send us a message with her fashion choices.
Witness the outfit she wore to today's Commonwealth Day celebration:
The lacy dress she wore last week:
The vibrant blue number she wore to the Royal Foundation forum the week before that:
And the bright blue coat she wore for her touchdown in Oslo, Norway at the beginning of last month:
Have you figured it out yet? Kate has been wearing a lot of blue! Surely that can mean one thing and one thing alone! (And that thing is definitely not: Kate enjoys wearing blue.)
The crackerjack theory that Kate has been sending us thinly-veiled "I am having a boy child" signals originated with the royal Family's holiday card. Upon seeing the foursome in smart ice-blue, many on the interwebs concluded that George and Charlotte had a baby brother on the way.
Of course, the Duchess has also worn other colors, like this vibrant pink early in February.
What on earth could she mean by that?
