Why Grammy Host Trevor Noah Hoped He Wouldn't See Travis Kelce at the Awards Show

Unlike all the Swifties out there who are impatiently waiting for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift to officially make their red carpet debut, Trevor Noah admitted he's happy the NFL star won't be walking the 2024 Grammy Awards red carpet.
Noah, who is once again serving as the host of this year's Grammy awards, told Billboard in an interview conducted ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens that he hopes "I don't see him" at the Grammys, because that means he's still in the running to be a three-time Super Bowl champ.
"Well, I’m hoping that the Chiefs don’t lose because I really like Travis," he said of the Jan. 28 game. "He’s like one of the sweetest human beings I’ve ever met. He’s a really lovely guy."
Noah, 39, continued, recalling a time he met the tight end quite some time ago while they were both somewhere in upstate New York.
"I met him years and years ago in the summer [in] upstate [NY]. He was just like this sweet guy. We talked about comedy and football. He was really wonderful to everyone around him. I had no clue who he was in that way."
"Ever since then his star has only risen. So I’m rooting for him 1000 times over. So I actually hope that I don’t see him because he’s still in the mix and he’s still doing well. But if anything changes, I’ll be ready. And that’s what being a host is all about," Noah concluded.
Fortunately for the comedian, Kelce has confirmed he won't be attending the award show to support his pop superstar girlfriend as he'll be too busy preparing for the Super Bowl, which is set to take place the following week, on Sunday, Feb. 11, in Las Vegas.
