Why Kelly Ripa's Kids Blocked Her on Social Media

The 'Live' co-host said her kids block her 'any way they can.'

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos often share pictures of their three kidsMichael, Joaquin, and Lola—on social media, but the children don't want to be mutuals with their parents.

Ripa told E! News her kids set boundaries when it comes to their parents on social media.

"I'm pretty sure they've blocked us," she shared. "When you have a news feed and it says 'Suggest more or suggest this, like this or block this channel,' I'm certain they have blocked any channel with any mention of our names. Just like they block us on social media. They block us any way they can."

Ripa recognized that this is simply "self-preservation" on their part. However, there's a downside to Ripa's children being so disconnected from their parents online. Ripa said that the kids were barely aware that their parents are now co-hosting Live.

"They're in a whole 'nother subculture," she said. "They're like, ‘What do you mean? What are you guys doing?' They have no idea." She added that they "don't really pay attention to what [they're] doing."

Live With Kelly and Ryan is set to turn into Live With Kelly and Mark on April 17. Ripa's former co-host, Ryan Seacrest, had an emotional last day on the talk show on April 14, showing how close he's become with Ripa.

Seacrest announced in February that he'd be leaving the New York City-based show to move back to California and resume his American Idol hosting duties. Consuelos, who has been married to Ripa for 27 years, was the perfect replacement.
