Why Kendall, Kylie, Kim, and the Kardashian-Jenner Family Aren't at the 2021 Golden Globes

From ELLE

In 2018, Kendall Jenner was a surprise attendee at the Golden Globes, wearing a voluminous black Giambattista Valli gown on the red carpet. This year, with a bicoastal ceremony and drastically reduced guest list, the Kardashian-Jenners are taking in the night like most other Americans: at home.

None of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters—Kylie, Kendall, Kim, Khloé, or Kourtney—are presenters at the award show. None of them are nominated either, as the Golden Globes doesn't have a category for reality television programming.

With the coronavirus pandemic still very much ongoing, opportunities for the sisters to attend after parties like in previous years are essentially non-existent, too.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner, who attended NBC's Golden Globes after-party together in 2017 and posed with pizza there, don't often attend award show parties together. But they are very close, something they made clear in Kylie's Harper's Bazaar March 2020 cover story.

“Kendall and I were so close in age,” Kylie started. “We had a close bond, but we are definitely polar opposites. But it works out. We don’t ever cross. She does her thing and I do mine, then we come together and have a great time.”

“She likes black; I like white,” Kendall said. “My room was white and silver and gold, and hers was black, really dark. Kylie had a zebra pattern, and I had leopard. We responded to each other, so we would have our own thing. But we have similarities too; we’re definitely sisters.”
