Why Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott Skipped the Billboard Music Awards
Tonight, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott missed what would've been their first big red carpet since the Grammys, the Billboard Music Awards. The two were not photographed on the red carpet or in the audience.
The night is still big for Scott. He is nominated for Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Male Rap Artist, Top Rap Tour, Top Billboard 200 Album, and Top Rap Album.
The two's absence isn't wholly surprising: They celebrated Travis Scott's birthday in Los Angeles the night before with a late-night party. Jenner posted on her Instagram Story earlier that day that she was sick but "still gonna go hard for my baby." And Scott is scheduled to perform in Dallas on May 3, so he may be getting ready for that or traveling there.
Had Jenner and Scott gone to the Billboard Music Awards, it would have been a big night symbolically for Jenner and Scott's relationship. The two were reported to be on shaky ground in March, and it would have been their first industry event since news of that broke.
TMZ was the first outlet to report that Jenner had allegedly accused Scott of cheating on her after finding "a number of what she deemed 'overly friendly' [Instagram] DMs between him and several women with whom he'd been chatting," on his phone.
Jenner saw that as "evidence" to back her accusations of his infidelity, TMZ reported. According to the outlet's sources, Jenner was "incredibly pissed" about the messages initially.
But time-and a Mexican vacation-healed things between them.
An insider told Us Weekly at the end of April that Jenner herself didn't take the cheating rumors seriously. “Kylie is considering the cheating rumors about Travis to be ‘white noise’ and she knows everyone is always trying to get a rise out of her and her family,” the source said. “Her and Travis are in a great place and she has no intention of breaking things off with him.”
Jenner did stoke secret marriage rumors last week though when she threw an Avengers birthday party for him and had his cake say "Husband."
