Why Kylie Kelce Doesn't Like Being Referred to as a WAG: 'Deeply Bothers Me'
Kylie Kelce
Kylie Kelce would prefer not to be called a WAG—and she recently explained why she doesn't feel the term is descriptive of her role.
The term, a trendy title used to refer to "wives and girlfriends" of professional athletes, carries a certain "stereotype," according to the wife of Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, who admitted she "doesn't like it."
In a resurfaced New Heights podcast episode re-shared via Reddit on Sunday, Feb. 18, the mom-of-three was asked a simple question by her brother-in-law, Travis Kelce: "How does it feel to be referred to as a WAG?"
Kylie didn't waste any time with her answer, cutting straight to the chase by responding, "I don't like it."

The Kelce brothers pestered the 31-year-old about why she feels that way. "You don't like it?" Travis asked as Jason chimed in with, "Why not?" at the same time.
"Because I think, for the most part, there's a stereotype of WAGs that I would not–" she said before her husband and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end interrupted. "What's that? What's the stereotype of a WAG?" they continued to inquire during her explanation.
"That everything is designer," Kylie remarked, met with gasps from the podcast hosts. "You don't like designer stuff? Jalen [Hurts] got me a Louis Vuitton bag, it's really nice," the dad-of-three joked, trolling his wife.

"What's wrong with designers?" Travis pressed on.
Meanwhile, Kylie continued trying to get her point across through the brothers' comedic banter. "That they are with their significant others for reasons other than that they truly love them—honestly, that's the part that deeply bothers me," she expressed.
In response, Travis said, "We're not calling you that," while Jason playfully quipped, "I am," as they both burst into laughter.
"Ha-ha-ha," Kylie sarcastically remarked back, obviously totally accustomed to the Kelce crew's silliness.

Several social media users commented on the thread, affirming Kylie's viewpoint.
"Kylie's point about the stereotype of it being a woman who is into designer stuff and doesn't really love their partner is fair," one wrote before adding, "I think Kylie's issues with the term are incredibly valid because it turns them into a stereotype instead of allowing them to be seen as a whole person."
"The true sign to me is that Jason’s family really seems to love and respect her. The Kelces are real people who honor her as a wife and mom," another Reddit user suggested.

"I agree with Kylie wholeheartedly about the stereotype and I'm glad she's proving otherwise. Jason and Kylie don't seem to be about that money at all," another chimed in, while an additional person applauded her down-to-earth personality: "Kylie is Kylie. True to herself. She may be married to an NFL player, but she’s no wag!"
Someone else encouraged the NFL star's wife to ignore naysayers while name-dropping David and Victoria Beckham: "It's okay Kylie lol. They used to deride even the OG wag, Posh Spice, back in the day too but she and Becks have been together forever. Stay unbothered!"
Jason and Kylie tied the knot in 2018 after two years of dating. The pair welcomed three daughters: Wyatt Elizabeth, 4, Elliotte Ray, 2, and Bennett Llewellyn, 1.
