Why Leonardo DiCaprio's Girlfriend Camila Morrone Is Not With Him at the SAG Awards
Leonardo DiCaprio is spending another big award season night without his girlfriend Camila Morrone. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor arrived at the Screen Actors Guild Awards tonight solo.
He has a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role and is part of the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood cast nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. He will also present the Life Achievement Award to Robert DeNiro, so it's truly a full night for your boo boo.
Why isn't Morrone there with DiCaprio for one of the industry's glitziest date nights? DiCaprio has never taken Morrone to events with him, although they are going strong. DiCaprio keeps his relationships pretty private, generally speaking. Morrone is an actress herself, and she has no other reason to be at the SAG Awards this year other than to be DiCaprio's plus one. She did not attend the Critics' Choice Awards or Golden Globes with him either, by the way. She was, however, at a Golden Globes after party:
Morrone spoke about the downside of the DiCaprio girlfriend experience in a recent interview with WSJ magazine. The attention can be a lot sometimes, especially when you want people to focus on your work. “More exposure leads to more judgment and negativity,” she explained. “It’s a little bit of a bummer because you’re really trying to do good work and be nice and be a good person, and in the meantime...people wish negative things upon you.” Morrone copes by stepping away from it and not looking at comments. “It would never take away the joy of the craft that I get to do.”
