Why Prince Edward and Prince Andrew Aren't at the 50th Anniversary of Prince Charles's Investiture
Today, Prince Charles is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his investiture as the Prince of Wales with a reception at Buckingham Palace.
Several members of his close family are at the party, including Queen Elizabeth, Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Charles's wife, the Duchess of Cornwall.
His younger brothers, Prince Edward and Prince Andrew are reportedly not in attendance.
This morning, Prince Charles's family gathered at Buckingham Palace to mark the 50th anniversary of his investiture as the Prince of Wales. His mother, wife, and two sons are in attendance at today's event, as is his sister, Princess Anne. But a few members of the royal family were no where to be seen: Charles's two younger brothers, Prince Edward and Prince Andrew.

What might appear as a slight-either that Charles didn't ask his brothers to be there, or that they chose not to participate in the celebration- can actually be quite simply explained.
It's likely they aren't at today's ceremony because they weren't at Charles's investiture.
"Princess Anne is included because she actually attended the Prince of Wales Investiture 50 years ago," royal blogger Gert's Royals speculated on Twitter. "Andrew & Edward were 9 & 5 years old and didn't attend the ceremony."
Today's event is in celebration of the work Charles has done as the Prince of Wales, so it isn't necessary for Prince Edward or Prince Andrew to be there. That said, Princess Anne's inclusion in the festivities is a nice nod to her having been at Caernafon Castle in 1969.
