Tomorrow, Princess Charlotte will head to school with her big brother George for the very first time. The royal siblings will start the year together at Thomas's Battersea, and to mark the occasion, both of their parents will be there to drop them off.

Will and Kate pride themselves on giving their kids as normal a childhood as possible, despite the fact that they're in the direct line to the British throne. So when the Cambridge kids are in the classroom, they reportedly aren't referred to as His or Her Royal Highness or prince or princess. They're simply George or Charlotte (or perhaps Lottie, Charlotte's adorable family nickname).

Charlotte will likely follow in her brother's footsteps and use "Cambridge" as her surname, or last name, as it is often referred to in the U.S. As a direct descendent of Queen Elizabeth, the surname Mountbatten-Windsor is available to her as well.

Back in May, when Kensington Palace officially confirmed the news that Charlotte will be enrolled in Thomas's "reception year" this fall (a class similar to pre-kindergarten), the school's headmaster issued a statement about his new royal student.

"We are delighted that the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge have decided that Princess Charlotte will join her elder brother Prince George at Thomas’s Battersea. We greatly look forward to welcoming her and all of our new pupils to the school in September."

Charlotte, too, is reportedly looking forward to her new classes. A source recently told People that Charlotte is "so excited" about attending Thomas's. "She can’t wait to be with George at big school."
