Taylor Swift's award show run started strong: The singer had her very first public date night with Joe Alwyn, her boyfriend of three years, at the Golden Globes. But then her Cats song "Beautiful Ghosts" didn't get nominated anywhere else, not even making the short list for Oscars nominations. So it's unsurprising that Swift chose not to attend the Academy Awards this evening. She had no nominations, was snubbed by the Academy for her one eligible song, and she wasn't ask to present.

Her boyfriend Joe Alwyn didn't attend; his Harriet co-star Cynthia Erivo has a best actress nomination, but the film itself did not get a best motion picture nod.

There's a chance Swift and Alwyn could be at the Vanity Fair Oscars after party. They attended last year, although they did not walk the red carpet together. She wore a gold fringe Ralph & Russo dress that she posted on her Instagram. Inside, a guest posted footage of her putting an arm on Alwyn, which was significant PDA for the couple at that point.

Fast forward a year later, and photos were taken of Swift and Alwyn kissing at a Golden Globes after party. Swift also spoke a little about falling in love with Alwyn in her Miss Americana documentary that was just released on Netflix this Friday.

“I felt alone, I felt really bitter,” Swift said of the time she met Alwyn, which was after her public reputation soured in the summer of 2016. “I felt sort of like a wounded animal lashing out. I figured I had to reset everything. I had to reconstruct an entire belief system for my own personal sanity. I also was falling in love with someone who had a wonderfully normal, balanced life.”
