Wisconsin’s favorite Halloween candy revealed: Butterfinger tops the list
WISCONSIN (WFRV) — Want to avoid having your house “TP’d” this Halloween? Consider handing out the candies that mischievous trick-or-treaters actually like.
CandyStore.com, an online retailer specializing in wholesale and bulk candy orders, analyzed 17 years of sales data from the months leading up to Halloween to determine the “most popular” Halloween candies in the country. The retailer also breaks down the results by state to highlight the crowd-pleasing sweets that even the most hardened Halloween hooligans would enjoy.

“We’ve gathered the data to ensure you’re stocked with the most sought-after sweets,” said Ben George, marketing director of CandyStore.com, in a blog post published earlier this month.
In Wisconsin, the top Halloween candy is Butterfinger, followed by Hot Tamales and Starburst rounding out the top three.
Nationally, there has been a notable shift in candy preferences compared to previous years. Recent tallies suggest that M&M’s have overtaken Reese’s Cups as the nation’s preferred Halloween candy for the first time since CandyStore.com began tracking this data.
“It seems the classic, colorful candy has finally taken the crown, possibly thanks to its endless flavor varieties and easy-to-eat nature,” George wrote.
