Make-A-Wish families enjoy the 'sounds of speed'
Sep. 13—On Friday afternoon, some Make-A-Wish families were able to preview the Sound of Speed Airshow ahead of the weekend.
Both 7-year-old Marcus and 5-year-old Will were able to feel the rumble of F-16 Fighter Jets.
Marcus' wish with the Make-A-Wish foundation was to be a pilot for the day, which is something he already fulfilled.
"Ya, I basically know how to fly," said Marcus.
Although Will hasn't been able to fulfil his wish of going to Disney World yet, he was able to watch some fun in the sky.
When asked what his favorite thing about airplanes is, Will knew exactly how to answer.
"Going upside down," said Will.
Both of the kids were able to get autographs from the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, who are just one feature of the Sound of Speed Airshow.
The airshow will be held at Rosecrans Memorial Airport on Saturday, Sept. 14 from noon to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, Sept. 15 from noon to 5 p.m.
