The 4th of July is a day out of the office to celebrate American independence - but serious fitness buffs never actually take a training day off from work.

Hugh Jackman took the holiday as an opportunity to hit up one of the most iconic gyms in the world, Gold's Gym in Venice, California, for a celebratory morning sweat session. But he wasn't the only notable person putting in some work in for the Red, White, and Blue: Arnold Schwarzenegger, one of the stars who made the gym's original Venice location "The Mecca of Bodybuilding" back in the 1970s, also dropped in for a lift.

"What a way to start the 4th! With @schwarzenegger and Pete ... at the original @goldsgym in Venice. #4thofjuly," Jackman wrote on Instagram.

"Fantastic to see you and train together!" Schwarzenegger responded on Twitter.

Arnold wasn't done responding to his celebrity friends on social media after acknowledging his morning session with Jackman. He also answered the #Flex4Forces challenge from massive White House chef and veteran Andre Rush, and showed off his still-formidable biceps.

Not bad for a seventy-year-old just coming back to full-power from open heart surgery.
