Woman arrested at Florida airport for 'stupid' bomb joke to flight attendant
A Canadian woman was arrested in Florida this week after making what she called a “stupid joke” about a bomb to an Air Canada flight attendant, West Palm Beach news station WPTV reports.
Nathalie Tremblay, 53, was flying from Fort Lauderdale to Montreal with her boyfriend when a flight attendant asked who owned a black bag that was stuck in the overhead compartment.
“There’s a bomb in it,” Tremblay told the flight attendant and laughed, according to WPTV.

The “joke” shut down an entire terminal of the Fort Lauderdale airport and led to a two-hour search of the aircraft, the Montreal Gazette reports. The authorities found no bomb.
Tremblay was booked into a Broward County jail on a $5,000 bond. Although she reportedly told police that she had made a “stupid joke,” she was charged with making a false report of a bomb.
