Woman dubbed 'Taco Truck Tammy' says threat to call ICE on food workers was ‘unfortunate’
A Dallas woman who was dubbed “Taco Truck Tammy” after video footage of her threatening to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on workers at a taco truck parked near her home went viral has admitted that she overreacted, local ABC affiliate WFAA reports.

“I’ll call ICE,” the woman, identified as “Valerie,” says in the video, after ordering the employees to move the taco truck, which reportedly had a permit. She also told them “vamanos.”
The confrontation, which took place in Dallas’s Lakewood neighborhood, is the latest in a string of incidents in which white people — such as “Permit Patty” — have threatened or called law enforcement on people of color for dubious reasons, earning them internet notoriety and nicknames.
“Valerie” told WFAA that she lost her cool when she spied the taco truck setting up outside a construction site near her home, which she is trying to sell.
“There’s all the honking going on with the taco truck,” she said. “There’s the hammering, and the beeping, and the sawing and everything else. I just walked out and I said, ‘You guys can’t be here. This is a residential area, you guys need to move.’ It was probably that curt.”
But she admitted that her threat to call ICE was “unfortunate.”
“It was an unfortunate comment,” she said. “I mean, I wish I’d used my words better.
“It’s taught me to watch my words, maybe a little more carefully,” she added.
Now that the video has gone viral, “Valerie” is “scared” for her “safety,” fearing that critics could track down her home.
Indeed, commenters on Twitter have shared what they claim to be personal details about her life. But the woman’s regret hasn’t drummed up much sympathy.
To her, it is only “unfortunate” because she got called out for it.
