Woman harasses man in MAGA hat, declaring, 'I am the victim'
A woman who ripped off a man’s “Make America Great Again” hat at a Mexican restaurant says she wanted retribution for years of discrimination.
On Feb. 15th, Bryton Turner was eating at Casa Vallarta Mexican Restaurant in Falmouth, Mass., when a Brazilian woman, not being named by police, snatched off his red MAGA hat.
“Went out with some friends trying to enjoy some dinner and drinks when this ignoramus randomly tried to hit my hat off and started yelling at me…” Turner wrote on Facebook, sharing two videos. “I wasn’t going to press charges but in front of four cops she did it again so now she’s going to jail.”
In Turner’s selfie-made video, the woman whips off his hat and walks away. “See that right there? This is the problem. Ignorant people like this. I’m just trying to sit here and eat a nice meal,” Turner says to the camera, retrieving his hat. Behind him, the woman calls him “stupid” and manhandles his head.
“They want to lash out at people who are educated,” says Turner. He also taped the woman being confronted by police officers. “There she is getting cuffed,” he says. “Have a nice night in the cell, Rosie.”

Turner did not reply to Yahoo Lifestyle when contacted for an interview. “It’s just a hat at the end of the day,” he told WBZ-TV. “I don’t really understand why people can’t just express themselves anymore, everybody has to get mad.”
A case report sent to Yahoo Lifestyle by the Falmouth Police Department listed the woman’s charges as disorderly conduct and assault and battery.
A phone number for the restaurant was disconnected when Yahoo Lifestyle called for comment. Bartender Geo Macario told WBZ-TV, “The lady didn’t agree with his hat and I just kept telling her it’s alright, he’s not doing anything to me, why is it even a problem.”
Police said the “highly intoxicated” woman called Turner a “motherf***er” for supporting President Trump and that he shouldn’t be allowed to eat at a Mexican restaurant. As officers walked the woman outside, she hit Turner again. While being frisked, she allegedly yelled, “Oh yeah, you want to touch me, huh?”
The woman gave one officer the middle finger and said, “I only had three mojitos.”
The Cape Cod Times reports the woman is due for a pretrial hearing on March 20th.
Yahoo Lifestyle couldn’t reach the woman for comment. “I had a little bit to drink maybe that’s the reason that I couldn’t walk away but being discriminated for so many times in my life, I just had to stand up for myself,” she told Boston 25 News. “He’s not a victim. I am the victim. I have been bullied, OK?”
