*This* Woman Is the Highest Paid TV Host (Spoiler: It's Not Ellen)
There are countless noteworthy TV hosts, including Ellen DeGeneres, Jerry Springer, Jimmy Fallon, Busy Philipps and Jimmy Kimmel. However, only one reigns supreme over the rest, and the results may shock you.
Judith Sheindlin (aka Judge Judy) landed the top spot on Forbes’s annual list of the highest-paid TV hosts by raking in a whopping $147 million (pre-tax) this year. The 76-year-old’s courtroom series, Judge Judy, along with her role as an executive producer on Hot Bench, accounted for the majority of her income.
Sheindlin dethroned former list leader DeGeneres, who was the runner-up with $87.5 million for The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Phil McGraw (Dr. Phil) came in at number three with $77.5 million, and Ryan Seacrest (Live with Kelly and Ryan, American Idol) and Steve Harvey (Family Feud, Steve) rounded out the top five with $74 million and $44 million, respectively.
Case dismissed. Bring in the dancing lobsters.
