Is this the woman responsible for setting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle up?
In their first interview together on Monday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed how a prince from the United Kingdom and an American actress found each other.
The newly-engaged couple told the BBC that their first meeting was pretty much a “blind date.”
“We were introduced, actually, by a mutual friend — we’ll protect her privacy — but it was literally through her and we met once and then twice, back to back, two dates in London last July, beginning of July, and then it was about three, maybe four weeks later that I managed to persuade her to join me in Botswana,” Harry revealed.
Although the pair tried to protect the pal, rumor has it that fashion designer Misha Nonoo played matchmaker.
The 31-year-old was born in Bahrain, raised in Britain, and now lives in New York where she works on her eponymous label. She met Markle years ago when they were sat next to each other at a lunch and they “got along like a house on fire,” Nonoo told the Evening Standard. “She has the most remarkable and generous spirit. I aspire to be as philanthropic as she is, and to have as much of an impact as her.”
The pair have been close friends ever since. Markle even stepped out in one of Nonoo’s designs (a white button-down shirt fittingly named “The Husband”) when she made her first public appearance with Prince Harry at the 2017 Invictus Games. The designer called Markle’s wardrobe choice “a beautiful surprise,” saying she had no idea the actress had planned to wear one of her pieces for such a monumental occasion.
So how is Nonoo connected to Harry?
Well, until the end of last year, she was married to one of the royal’s former schoolmates and close friend Alexander Gilkes.
When asked whether she set the famous pair up, Nonoo replied: “I really can’t answer that.” But she did describe Markle as “the coolest girl in the world. I love her to death.”
If one person’s guaranteed an invite to the most talked about wedding of 2018, it’s her.
