Woman finds dad and daughter in photo she took at Notre Dame moments before devastating fire
Update: A Twitter user who was on the hunt for a dad and daughter duo who she captured having a heartwarming moment outside of Paris’ Notre Dame Cathedral just before the historic landmark caught fire has tracked down the subjects of the now viral photo.
According to a Thursday morning update to her original tweet, Brooke Windsor wrote, “The search is over!”
The search is over! The photo has reached the dad & family. He has chosen to remain anonymous in the wake of tragedy, and writes: “Thanks again for that beautiful photo, we will find a special place for it.” Thank you to everyone who has shared the picture and for your kind words

She then confirmed to the hundreds of thousands of people who have seen the photo on the social media platform that it was in fact Twitter that helped her track the family down.
Windsor, 23, who was visiting France from her home in Michigan, according to the BBC, shared alongside the candid picture that she “almost went up to the dad and asked if he wanted it. Now I wish I had.”

According to her tweets, the young woman took the photo just an hour before the cathedral went up in flames. When she and her friends walked away toward the Louvre is when they started to see the smoke coming from Notre Dame.

“We watched in shock and heartbreak with the rest of Paris,” Windsor told the BBC about the blaze that lasted more than 12 hours.
People are now recognizing that Windsor’s photo is one of the last to capture Notre Dame with its spire and roof fully intact. In the hours since she posted it to Twitter on Monday it’s gotten nearly 300,000 likes and more than 1,000 replies.

Windsor didn’t immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment. However, she told BBC that, as of Tuesday, the man and child pictured had yet to be tracked down.
“If it were me, I’d want the memory,” she said. “Hoping he feels the same way.”
