This Woman Turned Her Pickle Jar Into A Gorgeous Candle Holder And The Internet Is Obsessed
This just in: Mason jars are out. Pickle jars are in.
Allow us to elaborate: You know how we've seen mason jars go from humble canning tool to the reason for a DIY-er's existence? Well, their days spent solo in the spotlight might be numbered. Apparently, empty glass pickle jars are what makes the modern crafter's paradise.
Creative lady Mary Donetskova (who goes by @marys_hobby_life on Instagram) recently turned a one-gallon Vlasic container into the most gorgeous candle holder. Apparently, Mary is a pickle fiend (welcome to the club!), and her husband buys these jars of Vlasic kosher dills from Sam's Club with abandon for her. In an effort to "reduce, reuse, recycle," as any great DIY maven is prone to do, Mary constantly tries to find new uses for the empty jars.
"Here’s a DIY idea that you will see from time to time on my IG posts. I saved up so many of these and have use them for decor all around my house. There’s so many ways you can transform them," she explains in the caption of her post.
All Mary did was clean the jar out and remove its label (she says very hot water and a little soap do the trick for extra sticky residue), then she glued rope purchased from the dollar store to the rim, and popped a candle inside. On a nice wood trivet surrounded by greenery, the whole set up looks downright e-x-p-e-n-s-i-v-e.

As she promised, Mary's already shown this pickle jar DIY idea twice on her Instagram-the other time as a chic vase for eucalyptus. And seeing as she's only had her Instagram account up and running since December 2018, we're gearing up to see many more creative uses for the Vlasic containers.
