Woodland Pool to invites residents to Community Swim Day on Saturday

Woodland Swim Club will offer a public swim day 1-6 p.m. Saturday. Prices for non-members are $10 for adults and $5 for children.

The pool, which opened in 1949, is located on Andover Road in Mansfield. It is member-funded and the only outdoor pool still operating in Mansfield that anyone can join.

“Our pool, while member-supported, is open to anyone in the Mansfield community who wants to join,” said Jordan Phillips, club president. “We wanted to take this opportunity to show the community that we are here and open to new members.”

Annually, it costs $55,000-$65,000 to operate the swim club. Most of the funds come from membership dues. The rest of the income comes from fundraisers. Volunteers and friends of the pool provide maintenance and services at discounted rates to help battle costs for supplies and materials.

The Community Swim Day will kick off the pool’s half-price membership rates. Starting Saturday, memberships will be discounted to $212.50 for a family, $162.50 for a couple and $112.50 for an individual. The membership will be good through the end of the season, which is Labor Day.

“For a family of four, the membership will pay for itself in just seven visits to the pool,” said Lily Weeks, pool manager. “It has been a hot summer so far, so we expect it to be just as hot as we move into August.” In addition to the pool, there is a pickleball court, grill for members to cook out, and it is available for private party rentals.
