World’s Largest McDonald’s Boasts ‘Bistro Gourmet’ Menu Featuring Exclusive Items
The largest McDonald’s in the world isn’t in London or Dubai, but right here in the United States. Florida, to be exact. Orlando’s Sand Lake Road location, positioned near the Universal theme park, boasts a variety of luxe amenities, including a proper arcade with over 100 games and a massive indoor playground. However, the jewel in its crown is its “Bistro Gourmet” menu.
While it’s possible to order your favorite menu items, like a Big Mac or other classic burgers, the Sand Lake location provides customers with loads of other options, including build-your-own pizzas, and pasta bowls with a range of noodles like tortellini, linguini, and ravioli.
Pictures from Trip Advisor show heaping helpings of pasta garnished with slices of focaccia loaf. Other pictures show Belgian waffles topped with strawberry compote, chocolate, and bananas; omelets with hash browns; traditional grilled cheese sandwiches; and ham and cheese French toast. à la carte sides, such as bacon bits, pepperoni, and chopped breakfast sausage, are also available.
Customers seem to especially love the location’s brick pizza oven, with visitors thinking up every imaginable (and unimaginable) topping combination under the sun.
The restaurant also has a huge bakery menu, with an entire section of the shop devoted to specific cases for cakes, such as the Chocolate Corruption Cake, ice creams, and even sundae toppings. Some of the location-specific items on offer include Cinnamon Melts, which are like a Cinnabon crossed with one of McDonald’s famous pies, and Lemon Poppy Seed and Blueberry-flavored “Muffin Toppers,” which are muffins minus their base.
TikTok account @bossuptravels shared their trip to the Sand Lake location in 2021. Fans streamed into the comments to share their fond memories of the world’s largest McDonald’s. “I went there when I was 8 all I cared about was going on those slides,” wrote user @????????.
“I went to this one when I was at Universal for a week, and it’s sooooooo cool…and the food is sooooo good,” wrote @SASCHA.
Not everyone agrees that the food was worth the trek, though. “Pizza most definitely was nasty,” wrote @Kayla&Kyla, “but it was a cool experience.”
“We thought it was good considering it was from a McDonald’s,” @bossuptravels said of the pizza.
While McDonald’s doesn’t have any plans to bring items from its “Bistro Gourmet” menu to other locations, it’s not inconceivable that the company could make some items available on a limited basis. The chain has recently begun to lightly fluctuate its once-ironclad menu, with the return of items such as the breakfast wrap and snack wrap. McDonald’s spin-off CosMc’s also debuted several international menu favorites when it opened its first location in Illinois last month.
