Wrangler Reborn launched in 2022 as a curated collection of vintage and preloved denim featuring items from as early as the 1950s to the 2000s. The launch aligned with the heritage brand’s 75th anniversary.

Beyond Retro frequently collaborates with brands to incorporate used and deadstock textiles. The retailer has launched collections with Converse, YMC, Gina Tricot and All Saints founder Stuart Trevor. It also has its own label made entirely from discarded garments called Beyond Remade.

The partnership with Beyond Retro is one of a series of sustainable projects the Kontoor Brands-owned label is working on this year. In April, Wrangler joined Accelerating Circularity, the Walmart Foundation funded non-profit focused on textile-to-textile recycling systems at commercial scale, to develop a new 5-pocket jean from upcycled denim.

The brand also upcycled denim scraps and cardboard tubing to make a shade structure for a Texas sandlot baseball team.

At the time of the announcement, Vivian Rivetti, vice president of global design at Wrangler, said the partnerships were part of Wrangler’s continued strategic effort to keep denim waste out of landfills through systemic circularity practices.

She added that the projects reaffirm the company’s commitment to durability and longevity, adding that Wrangler is “focused on creating a better future through meaningful partnerships and purposeful design practices.”
