WWE star Michelle McCool demands women get equal pay: 'A main event is a main event'
It’s been years since Michelle McCool has taken the ring, but the former two-time WWE Women’s Champion — and wife of the Undertaker — still has a few things to say about the sport. In a video with TMZ, the former professional wrestler was asked whether women should get paid the same as men when competing in a main event, specifically in the upcoming WrestleMania event.
“You know I do think the women should get paid — a main event is a main event whether it’s the guys, the girls, or both of them in some mixed capacity,” McCool told TMZ. “But I hope they do, and I think they should.”

McCool, who formed the popular tag team LayCool alongside fellow wrestler Layla El, also discussed her excitement over the news that a women’s event will be closing out WrestleMania for the first time in over three decades. “When I was wrestling [Layla and I] literally fought tooth and nail,” she told TMZ. “For the girls to be main-eventing, it’s beyond words…I think they’ll deliver, and I don’t think it’s the last time they’ll main event.”
In her opinion, it’s not necessarily wrestling officials who have helped the women achieve progress — but the community itself. “The WWE universe finally demanded that the girls get the attention that they deserve,” she said. “I think women past, present, future, should forever be grateful for our super fans.”
