Yale University is currently being investigated by the Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights after a male student-who doesn't attend Yale and has no affiliation with the university-filed a Title IX complaint, claiming the university discriminates against men.

The complaint was filed in February by Kursat Pekgoz, a student at the University of Southern Carolina, and the OCR began its investigation in late April. According to the Yale Daily News, OCR is currently investigating seven out of the 17 university initiatives that Pekgoz said "exclude or otherwise discriminate against men." At Yale, some of those include: Working Women's Network, the Yale University Women's Organization, Women Empowering Women Leadership Conference, and Yale Women Innovators.

Pekgoz has filed a similar complaint against USC and claims that because more women are attending college than men, these initiatives are now unacceptable.

Pekgoz's complaint also asked for Yale to adopt a gender-blind admissions policy. In the letter OCR sent Pekgoz about the investigation, the office clarified that opening an investigation does not imply any stance based on the complaint.

Refinery29 spoke with Pekgoz on Tuesday, and he said he filed the complaint for "no particular reason." He also said, "I oppose feminism in colleges because women often have special privileges in academia that men do not have. That's probably why male enrollment is so low."

Try again, buddy.
