Yohji Yamamoto Opens Residency at Just One Eye in L.A., Featuring Limited-edition Items
Following the opening of his New York “concept” store at 52 Wooster Street in 2023, Yohji Yamamoto — the Japanese designer known for his avant-garde and conceptional designs — has expanded in the West Coast with a residency at Just One Eye, the highly curated fashion and art boutique in Los Angeles.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better partner than Just One Eye, whose values align so closely with our own — from an unwavering commitment to the integrity of fashion and innovation, to a shared sensibility for the arts. This collaboration feels like the perfect synergy, and we are thrilled to introduce it to the Los Angeles community,” the brand told WWD in a statement.

This marks Yohji Yamamoto’s first dedicated retail residency, according to the company. The brand is currently sold at retailers Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman, specialty stores such as A’maree’s in Newport Beach, as well as flagship locations in Paris, London, New York, Tokyo and across Japan and China.
Just One Eye offers Yohji Yamamoto’s latest women’s and men’s collections, as well as limited-edition pieces, with prices ranging between $360 in accessories and $6,400 for an artisanal puffer jacket. Also for sale are printed issues of “Perspective Libre,” a publication by creative design agency M/M (Paris) that’s presented by Yamamoto. As of now, the residency will be showcased through the first quarter of 2025.
Friends of the brand and influencers came out to celebrate the partnership on Tuesday night at the store, including Simon Rex, Anastasia Soare, Nick Wooster, Amanda Steele, Sarah Gorden, Eric Buterbaugh, Courtney Mawhor, Jessie Mesa and Stephanie Liu Hjelmeseth. They enjoyed cocktails by Sake Ono and tunes by DJ Mathieu Schreyer.
“Yohji Yamamoto is truly a welcome presence at Just One Eye,” the boutique’s founder Paola Russo said in a statement. “His work embodies beauty, art and creativity, and his passion over the years has made him one of the most influential figures in fashion today. We are deeply humbled and honored to have Yohji Yamamoto as a partner.”
