You're Welcome: Here's How to Watch the 2020 Golden Globes Sans TV
It's a big weekend, team. Not only is it the first weekend of the year 2020/the new decade, but it's also the weekend of the 77th Golden Globes, which are being hosted by Ricky Gervais. And because you want to see the celeb outfits/know the winners/find out which moment will become the new Fiji Girl meme, but, like most people, don't have a TV, we're here with a guide on how exactly to watch the show online. And yes, you're welcome.
Sorry, when is this happening again?
I'm glad you asked, cause I didn't know either until I literally just googled. This Sunday, January 5th, the awards will air on NBC starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Mark your cals, people!
Small problem: I don't have a TV
All you need is an internet connection and a screen and you're good to go. If you're one of those lucky people with access to a cable log-in (thanks, mom!) you can livestream the awards on the NBC app or on NBC Live.
But if you're lacking a cable log-in and a TV, your best bet may be to sign up for a free 7-day trial for a livestreaming platform like Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, DirecTV Now, or fuboTV. Just don't forget to cancel the subscription when you're done. In fact, mark your cal for that too!
I'm really more of a red carpet person
Honestly, same—it's the best part of the show besides all of the snacks that I'll be eating to accompany my viewing. Luckily, there are a couple of ways to watch celebs arrive and show off their outfits/give awkward interviews. The official Golden Globes Facebook page will be livestreaming a two-hour pre-show (it's formally called HFPA Presents Globes Red Carpet Live) on Facebook Watch starting at 6 p.m. ET, so no need for a TV there. And if you're more of an E! person, you can watch Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic try to get the attention of major celebs on Live From the Red Carpet, also starting at 6 p.m. ET.
Happy viewing!
