You've Been Applying False Eyelashes Wrong Your Whole Life

It takes a pretty freaking amazing tip to blow a beauty editor's mind when it comes to cool tricks. But my mind was definitely blown when I heard this false lash hack at a photo shoot this week.

Makeup artist Vincent Oquendo and hairstylist Sunnie Brook were getting model Bodhi ready when Sunnie told Vincent that she learned the following gem of a tip from a Russian model: Apply false lashes under your lash line, not along the top of it.

The minute Vincent heard the tip from Sunnie, he put it to the test.

First, he curled Bodhi's lashes, took a cluster of individual lashes, applied regular Ardell Duo glue on the top of the false lashes, and then used tweezers to carefully place the lash cluster underneath her natural lashes rather than setting them on top along the lash line.

The result: a seamless application that barely feels like it there. The model told me they were the most comfortable way she has ever worn false lashes, and models have to wear them every single day, so that's saying something.

To make sure this trick was Cosmo-approved, I had Vincent apply the lashes underneath my lash line too. Sure enough, Bodhi was right, I couldn't even feel them under my lashes. They felt super-light, and then stayed on all night. I'm even wearing them as I type this sentence and they're showing no sign of loosening up anytime soon.
