Share With Me The Most, Wildest, Or Just Weird Dating Conversation You've Ever Had

Dating in 2023 is not easy!

Nowadays, a lot of digital dating consists of swiping on an app or sliding into someone's DMs on Instagram — or other social media — to either find a potential significant other, a hookup buddy, or whatever else you're looking for.

Unfortunately, one of the worst parts of it is the fact that you're bound to encounter some awkward, cringe, or even jaw-dropping message exchanges in the dating world — whether it's on an app, in the DMs, or just texting. We've all been there!

On that note, I'm asking the BuzzFeed Community to share with me the most awkward, out-there, or wild online dating message or text they've ever received.

I'll go first. This guy I matched with and flirted with asked for my number. He seemed to check off a lot of my boxes, so I was up for seeing where it went. He then texted me at 7:30 a.m. on a Sunday to schedule a FaceTime date. I agreed to chat with him later that night, and about an hour before we were supposed to talk, I confirmed with him to make sure we were still on. He never texted back, and 6 p.m. came and went. Later that night, he texted me saying one of his two dogs died the night before and he was too distraught to have a call.

Maybe you had a DM conversation with someone you were potentially interested in. They were consistently pursuing you which was exciting at first — but then it just got annoying and creepy real fast.

Perhaps after exchanging numbers with someone you met on an app, they immediately started asking you for nudes. ??

Or maybe a person initiated sex (on a dating app!) in the most cringe way ever and you're still rolling your eyes about it.
