Zac Efron Gives Up His Dreads, Debuts New Hairstyle at the Teen Choice Awards

After one month, Zac Efron has abandoned his controversial dreads. The actor debuted his new hair-just short curls-to accept the Teen Choice Awards for choice movie ship for him and Zendaya Coleman in The Greatest Showman. He did not walk the red carpet for the event, but his award was one of the first of the night. Zendaya did not attend with him.

Efron teased his hair change on his Instagram earlier in a snap from August 4, but the curls are a new look for Efron.

Efron's choice to get dreads "just for fun" was called out as cultural appropriation. He later French braided them before getting rid of them in the last week. And with that, a hair journey that wasn't particularly well-received by anyone ends.
