Zendaya Hits Back At Being Called A Pin-Up For Girls With Eating Disorders

Yes, body shaming has hit the headlines again. This time it involved Disney star Zendaya Coleman and comedian Julie Klausner.
The uproar took place after Zendaya attended the Kids’ Choice Awards. She was looking incredible in a stunning embellished midi dress and much older than her 19 years.
And, after seeing the comments from comedian Julie on her appearance, Zendaya also proved that she acts older than her age.

The whole spat took place on Twitter after Julie made some pretty uncalled for statements about Zendaya’s appearance, calling her a “thinspo model for your impressionable tweens”.
She then continued to tweet references about Zendaya looking like she was “starving herself” and had an “eating disorder”.

As a 37-year-old woman you think Julie would know better than to try and body-shame a 19-year-old girl. Those accusations towards any girl of Zendaya’s age would be very upsetting.

Luckily, Zendaya proved she has a thick skin and came back with a girl power response.
After calling out Julie responding back “Do you find this funny?”, she proceeded to be a positive role model for women encouraging all girls to go look in the mirror and love their bodies. Bravo Zendaya!
Julie, was then quick to defend herself responding, “I’m concered with the generation of girls who aspire to look like Zendaya”.

We have to say, this is a pretty fair and true statement. However, it is neither Zendaya’s fault that she has a thin frame or hers that the industry holds dangerous beauty standards.
Julie may want to think about the bigger picture before body-shaming a teenager again. She may also want to now deactivate her Twitter page as the Zendaya fans have gone into a online battle with her.
