A Cupcake Bouquet
A Cupcake Bouquet
Here’s the problem - you’d love to bring cupcakes to the next party you’re attending, but you don’t quite feel like you’re up to the task of making them from scratch. We hear ya! It’s hard to find the time and, quite honestly, we’re not all complete whizzes in the kitchen. However, simply picking up a tray of ready-decorated cupcakes isn’t really your style either. You like a touch of the homemade! Well, we’ve got a great way for you to decorate ready made cupcakes to give them a personal touch.
When you buy plainly frosted cupcakes (no colors, sprinkles or decorations), you can turn them into flowers by swirling a little colored (ready made) buttercream or decorator’s gel right into the plain frosting. Wrapping each cupcake in green tissue paper will give the illusion of leaves, and bunching them all together on a cake stand will create a sweet and tasty ‘bouquet.’
Simple, quick and delicious - three of our favorite words!
Materials:
Plain, frosted cupcakes
Colored frosting in tubes
Sprinkles
Green tissue paper
Cake stand
Ribbon
Tools:
Scissors
Toothpick
Butter knife
Instructions:
1. Frost each cupcake like flower heads with colored frosting - use a toothpick or a butter knife to scratch out petals. Then place a few sprinkles in the center of each flower.
2. Cut the green tissue into small squares.
3. Wrap each cupcake with a green tissue paper square, leaving a corner or two longer than the others, as leaves.
4. Group all the cupcakes together on the cake stand, with the leaves of tissue paper poking out.
5. Place the cake stand with the ‘bouquet’ on the middle of a large square of tissue paper and attach it with a ribbon at the stem to make the final bouquet.
