We’re live from CES 2015! Las Vegas is hosting the huge consumer electronics and technology trade show, and this year’s offerings haven’t disappointed.

3-D printing has officially transitioned from the lofty recesses of engineering labs to the mainstream. Tech and DIY come together with this cutting edge technology, allowing you to use computers to create nearly anything on a small scale.

Case in point: Watch this 3-D printer make a customized chocolate message in seconds.  While it (unfortunately) does not magically pop out a full batch of cookies for a last-minute bake sale plan, it allows more amateur bakers to simply pop a design into the printer and have it robotically be administered to the edible canvas of your choice.

XYZprinting manufactures this printer, which will be available for sale later this year.

For those of you that don’t just happen to have 3-D printer pocket change lying around, perhaps try this easy, cookie decorating tip.
