Brighten Up Your Home With This Easy DIY
DIY Yarn Tassels Will Brighten Up Your Home
Studies tell us that having plants around you, can make you happier and even reduce stress…. now who doesn’t want that?!
But plants need taking care of (shocking!) and then there are those of us who forget that one essential thing that keeps them alive -water. Suddenly that beautiful orchid of yours isn’t quite so beautiful anymore. Of course, you can buy bouquets and surround yourself with flowers, but after a week you’ll need to buy new ones and we all know that flowers cost you a pretty penny.
So why not try something different? Decorating a branch with yarn tassels is a great way to simulate a little nature indoors. They’re easy to make, and pretty to look at. And why stop at hanging them? You can add tassels to gift wrapping, curtain ties, and oh-so-many other things. Now that sounds like fun!
Materials:
Yarn
Thread
Branch
Tools:
Scissor
1. Wind the yarn around your fingers about 5 or 6 times, and cut it off. Gently remove the yarn from your fingers so it still keeps the shape of an O.
2. Cut approximately 4-6 inches from both the yarn and the thread.
3. Pull the thread through the hole and tie a knot close to the yarn, then tie the thread together at the ends.
4. Tie the little string of yarn around the top, and cut off the excess.
5. Cut through the hole.
You now have your first tassel - create as many as you like in lots of different colors.
Now there’s no need to worry about remembering to water your plant. And whenever you get tired of it, these yarn tassels are so easy that it will only take you a moment to create new ones in different colors for a whole new look!
