DIY Your Own Designer Valentine Chocolates
It may be classic, it may have been done to death, but giving a box of chocolates to someone on Valentine’s Day is never the wrong move. It’s a lovely gesture with a sweet reward. Who doesn’t love sitting with a big box of assorted chocolates, looking for the one with the caramel filling, or trying to avoid the one with the jammy center? It just doesn’t get old.

The problem is, those beautiful, fancy boxes of chocolate can cost you a fortune! So you find yourself standing in the candy aisle at the drug store, trying to decide which ugly, albeit delicious, box of chocolates to go with. You know it’s what’s on the inside that counts, but the outsides aren’t all that you would wish for in a thoughtful Valentine.

Don’t let that stop you! Pick up that box, head to check-out, and know that when you get home you can give it a makeover!
When you pick up a $3 bag of feathers (we bought these at Michael’s) and white dove ornament at the craft store, you can turn that eyesore into a sure-fire score in no time!
Materials:
Heart shaped box of chocolates
Bag of small feathers
Decorative Bird
Spray Glue
Tools:
Hot glue gun
Instructions:
1. Spray the lid of the box with glue.
2. Shake the bag of feathers onto the lid, covering the entire surface and gently press down for glue contact.
3. Break off the wings from the bird and hot glue them to the outer ‘shoulders’ of the box.
We’re pretty sure you’ll agree - the box with wings wins!
