Remember when headbands were an absolute staple of your outfit? Probably from pre-school to about the 4th grade. They were plastic, and hard and kind of dug into your temples a little bit - but they were THE hair accessory and came in every color of the rainbow.

This Valentine’s day, why not pull your hair back with a crown of hearts? It’s sweet and simple, and as it’s made of leather, it’s got just the right amount of edge. If you’re looking to wear a nod to V-Day but don’t want to go overboard, this headband will take you about 10 minutes to put together, which means you’ll have plenty of time to complete the rest of your look.

And don’t worry, leather needn’t be expensive. You can buy scraps at your local craft store, which run about $10 for a big bag! (We see lots of leather accessories in your future!)

Materials:

  • Leather scraps

  • Elastic band

Tools:

  • Scissors

  • Hot glue gun

Instructions:

1. Cut and knot together a piece of elastic the size of your head

2. Cut out hearts from leather in different sizes.

3. Hot glue the hearts (down the center) to elastic band.

Here’s a helpful hint: Glue a smaller heart, in a contrasting color, on top of one of your hearts for a little pop!
