Take Your Kitchen Herb Garden to the Next Level

You don’t necessarily need land, or even a window sill, to grow your own herbs.  Stack up a few boxes our way and you’ll have plenty of green right in your own kitchen no matter where you live.  And, they’re so handy like this!

Materials:

  1. 4-6’ piece of 2x2”

  2. 3 wood boxes of various sizes

  3. Plastic pot liners for boxes

  4. 1-2 yards of oil cloth

  5. 4” Potting Herbs

  6. Potting Soil

  7. Picture hangers

  8. 2   5” wood screws

  9. File cabinet label frames and card to fit

Tools:

  • Hot glue gun

  • Screw gun

  • Hammer

Instructions:

  1. Pre Drill a hole at top and bottom of your 2”x2” for mounting later

  2. Cut the oil cloth to fit around your boxes, including the bottom

  3. Hot glue the cloth to the boxes

  4. Attach the picture hangers to the back of box

  5. Glue the label frames on the front of box (write out cards with names as you plant)

  6. Fill boxes with herbs

  7. Attach picture hanger hooks to the 2”x2” at spaced intervals for the boxes to hang

  8. Drill the 2”x2” into your wall with the 5” wood screws

  9. Hang the herb boxes on the hooks

Hint:

Herbs like it moist but never over water.
