Seriously Twisted Art

Humorist, Photographer, Earthling…the credentials that artist Terry Border lists on his website give a good sense of his whimsical flair. In an art series entitled “Bent Objects,” Border fashions fruit, office supplies, and overall everyday objects into clever dioramas. His reinterpretation of these items as art is executed with a perfect tone of tongue in cheek commentary and playfulness. The repertoire of art included in the collection is quite prolific; peruse his website and you’ll see dozens upon dozens of these creatively staged scenes. The images run the gamut of cute and playful to scandalous and nearly NSFW. Terry Border has been adding to the Bent Objects series since 2006 and has published two books featuring his handiwork. The artist’s work extends into the medium of video. Perhaps only he can make a compelling and engaging stop motion film about a love story involving two pieces of bread.
