How to Use Your Garden to Create a Piece of Living Art
Take your garden and make it a piece of art by framing nature’s beauty and show it off for all to adore.
Materials:
Succulents
Frame with a backing board
1/2” x 2” Moulding to make a box frame
1/2” Chicken wire
Dried moss
Potting soil
Instructions:
Take the backing off the frame and flip it over to its backside
Lay the chicken wire down in the frame and staple to the edges
Use the Moulding strips to cut/make a box frame that fits snuggly right on top of the chicken wire and right into the frame to be planted. Hot glue the joints of the box together.
Fold the excess chicken wire up and over the box frame or cut away excess.
Lay a layer of dried moss to cover all the chicken wire.
Fill the box with potting soil to the top.
Fit the original backing of the frame to the box, and nail/staple it on.
Flip the whole thing over and use your fingers to poke holes through the moss and plant your succulents.
Hints:
Make sure to put plenty of potting soil in your box so that it holds the succulent securely.
It's a good idea to lean your frame up when planting so that you can see how deep to push them in and how close to put them.
Plant the succulents close together so they support each other.
Remember, succulents don’t need a lot of water, so go easy…. just a spray bottle will do most of the time.
