A 'Hunger Games' Inspired Wreath

The long-awaited latest installment in the mega-succesful "Hunger Games" franchise hits theaters on Friday. And while fans are flocking to theaters to see "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1," what happens after the movie's over and you want a little memory of "Mockingjay" to take home beyond your ticket stub?

Well, if you're up for getting a little crafty, we've got just the thing  a "Hunger Games"-inspired wreath for your front door that displays an arrow a la the famous one that Katniss uses to hunt for food. Bring the musky feel of the forest right up to your door with this woodsy wreath and tout your love of the "Games" at the same time. See you at the theater! 

Materials:

  • Wire wreath frame

  • Dried moss

  • Leather scraps

  • Arrow

  • Feathers

  • Branches in 2"-6 pieces

  • Clay

Hot Glue gun

Instructions:

  1. Glue a layer of dried moss around the wreath frame.

  2. Glue a layer of branches around the wreath frame.

  3. Add another layer of branches to create depth.

  4. Wrap a 8 piece of leather around the wreath and tie up with a leather lace.

  5. Pierce an arrow through both sides of wreath at an angle, secure with hot glue.

  6. Shape an arrow head with the clay and pinch it on to the tip of arrow.
