Pets have been dressed up by their owners in adorable and hilarious ways for a very, very long time. But no one does it quite like Sara Rehnmark and her 3-year-old Pharaoh Hound, Rufus.

Sara,  a model and actress herself, has stepped behind the camera and put her handsome hound in front to produce some wonderfully unique results that put a fresh spin on this enduring endeavor.

From popsicle sticks to bandanas, Sara employs an eclectic and inspired mix of materials, most of which can be found in your home. And that’s part of the reason why this pet project is so appealing, Sara’s managed to find a novel and engaging method to her presentations without buying Rufus  his own wardrobe.

Sara and Rufus’ photo shoots range from whimsical tableaus to striking canine couture, with some just-plain-fun silliness sprinkled in for good measure. Rufus is a natural on set, striking charismatic and emotive poses, giving you the idea that he knows exactly what he’s doing…or maybe he just suspects that a treat may come later. Either way, these two have something special.

Here are some highlights from this creative duo:

With just a small bit of fabric and some antlers, Sara has created this playful scene that could be plucked straight out of a children’s book. And little touches like the white circles of fabric on the mushroom and the squirrels in the tree really enrich the scene.

The color of this tassel scarf goes perfectly with Rufus’ coat. His steely expression doesn’t hurt either.

Rufus is ready to travel the world here, and this time he’ll be the one taking the photographs. And all it took to convincingly portray Rufus as a traveler is his passport and map. Plus his matching suitcase really ties it all together.

Up, up, and away! This tableau is instantly recognizable with just a few balloons and a handbag. Plus the little bird adds a wonderful little perspective to the scene.

A deck of cards, a rabbit in a hat and abracadabra! Rufus is transformed into a magician. The red background gives this shot great focus and Rufus’ front two legs are perfectly arranged.

A magnifying glass, a pipe, a hat and a jacket transforms Rufus into an immediately recognizable detective. This would undoubtedly have Sir Doyle’s approval.

The craftiness of this shot is impressive. The cotton marshmallows and flannel shirt really make the scene feel cozy.

Not many folks could pull off such an extreme hat tilt, but this guy certainly can.

This expression is absolutely exquisite. It’s the perfect blend of alarmed and called-to-action that makes you wonder if Rufus fights crime at night.

Lest we forget, Rufus shows us he doesn’t need intricate set designs to look magnificent. His one eye hiding behind this oversized circle scarf has him looking less like a goofy fun-loving hound and more like an assured supermodel.
