Turn a Plain Pillow Cover into a Confetti Filled Party

We firmly believe, home is where the art is!  Taking time to personalize the most precious place and letting your inner domestic DIY artist out is what it’s all about. Enter our friends at Tulip Home, whose new line of home décor inspired stencils and fabric paint allowed us to turn a plain pair of pillow covers into a confetti filled party for a couch!  The possibilities for cool patterns and pops of color are endless with this clever little dot.

To create: Lightly apply the spray adhesive to the matte side of the polka dots stencil. Wait a minute before mounting the stencil to the pillow cover. Squeeze a dollop of each color fabric paint onto a plate. P.S. – we used ocean, aqua, nickel & gold. To achieve a unique color, we mixed the two metallic paints for an “antique gold” hue. Use a sponge pouncer to stamp the colors onto the stencil in a diamond pattern. Let the paint dry for a couple of minutes, then carefully remove the stencil. Wash and dry the stencil. Repeat the steps but place the stencil at a 45-degree angle. Mix up the colors when painting the diamond pattern. Once dry, peel to unveil a layered polka dot masterpiece. P.S. – personalize your pillow by adding a monogram using a paint roller and letter stencils.
