Valentine Balloon Sculptures Will Make Your Heart Float Away

Heather ChaEditor
Updated

Balloon art isn’t just for kids anymore. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, balloons give people another chance to give a unique gift. As any Valentine gift-buyer knows, the pressure is on to wow your loved one with a special present that knocks their socks off. According to finance and business website Kiplinger, people polled last year said they had planned on spending an average of $134 on Valentine’s Day gifts. Elaborate balloon sculptures are one more thing to add to the list of wild, out there presents to consider. Check out how one artist took balloons and elevated them to the status of haute couture. Japanese artist, Rie Hosokai created dresses out of balloons that look like they belong on the pages of Vogue or Haper’s Bazaar. In Rochester, NY, this year’s Balloon Manor will feature a five-story balloon reconstruction of the “underwater world of Atlantis.” Still, a balloon concoction doesn’t have to be as outrageous as a high fashion dress or city replica to be an impressive gift.
