The 10 Stages of Watching a Shia LaBeouf Movie Marathon
On Nov. 10th, actor, performance artist, and former Bay-Bay kid Shia LaBeouf walked into Manhattan’s Angelika Film Center, grabbed a seat at the front of a tiny theater, and began taking in a three-day binge of his own films. The 29-year-old didn’t explain his motivations for the marathon: Was it a publicity stunt? A practical joke? A way for an oft-troubled young star — who’s been famous since a teenager — to revisit (and perhaps become rejuvenated by) the artistic choices he’s made in the past two decades, all in an effort to salvage whatever might remain of his creativity, enthusiasm, and love for the medium?
No idea! But as we sat and watched LaBeouf sitting and watching himself, we were able to pinpoint, Kübler-Ross-style, the various emotional stages he was experiencing.
