'Transformers: The Last Knight': Michael Bay Has His Eye on a Vintage Green Car in Instagram Post from Cuba

Michael Bay can’t get enough of his favorite Hasbro toys—and now, he’s taking them to a country that’s been out of play as a movie location for decades.
Bay is behind the camera for his fifth Transformers film, recently revealed to be titled Transformers: The Last Knight, which has set up shop in Cuba, a fact the director celebrated in an Instagram post featuring a classic car yesterday:
It’s the second big-budget American studio feature to set up production there this year, following Vin Diesel’s still-shooting Fast 8.

Does Bay’s photo contain some cryptic clue about the old-school direction he’s taking the lucrative franchise? Bay’s post offers no concrete info as to whether this lime-green beauty is a new member of the Autobots (or the villainous Decepticons), or merely a sweet ride he wanted to photograph.
Other than its title, little is certain about what we’ll see in The Last Knight, though we do know it will feature the return of Josh Duhamel as Colonel Lennox—a primary player in the first three Transformers movies who was MIA in 2014’s Mark Wahlberg-headlined Transformers: Age of Extinction. As for series stalwart Tyrese Gibson, well, it seems he’s itching to return to the fold too.

Even if details about its plot remain scarce for now, it’s safe to assume The Last Knight—which may be Bay’s final outing with the franchise—will have plenty of the large-scale explosions, frantic CGI effects, and chaotic action that Bay has made the series’ hallmark. Considering the enormous success of its predecessors, there’s no doubt it’ll be a contender for the summer-blockbuster crown—and perhaps more Razzies?—when it’s released on June 23, 2017.
